Caroline King wins at Sandyhills GC in the Autumn Meeting.

The weather yet again this year was not kind the the WestVets.

Only 22 ladies bravely ventured out in pretty awful conditions – well done to them. The conditions overhead and underfoot made play very difficult today.

Caroline King - Overall winner of the Autumn Meeting

However, one player found these conditions to her liking, Caroline King of Clober GC. She came in with a gross 85/nett75 to be the overall winner of the Autumn Meeting and the recipient of the May Craddock Trophy.

Barbara Cunningham - Hilton Park

The winner of Division 2 was Barbara CunninghamHilton Park with a nett 86
Our Super Vet was the ever youthful Liz Hale, Caldwell GC with a nett 83.

Many thanks to Sandyhills GC for the use of their course and to Andy and all the staff for looking after us throughout the day.

East retain the Elise Duncan Trophy.

Captain Chris Fowler presents East Captain Anne Rorrison
with the Elise Duncan Trophy

The West Vets Team turned up at Glencorse Golf Club hoping for a win for the first time since 2014.
It was much closer than last year, unfortunately we lost 5 ½ -  3 ½
However 5 games were very well contested, going all the way to the 18th.

Both teams thoroughly enjoyed Glencorse, finding it a tricky and interesting course. It was in great condition considering the weather the day before.
As usual the friendship was evident on the course and in the clubhouse during the meal, and we must thank Glencorse G.C. and East Vets Captain Anne Rorrison for hosting such an enjoyable day.

Lesley Lloyd is the West Vets Champion, two years in a row.

West Vets Captain presents Lesley Lloyd with Championship Trophy
Unfortunately the lovely weather we had for the qualifying competition at Pollok GC and on Tuesday at Renfrew GC failed materialise today. It was quite cold and blustery, making the conditions difficult for the players.

Liz Stewart and Lesley Lloyd

In the first semi final of the Championship Lesley Lloyd (Hayston) on sparkling form, she was 2 under to the turn and Liz Stewart (Greenburn) finally succumbed 5&4

Donna Jackson and Gillian Kyle
The other semi final between Donna Jackson (Troon) and Gillian Kyle (East Renfrewshire) was closely fought and they were all square at after 10, however Donna then pulled ahead and won the game 3&2.

Donna and Lesley on the 1st Tee

It was 2 up to Lesley at the turn. After a few halved holes, Donna pulled it back to one but Lesley stayed focused and won the game 2&1

Sheila Sneddon and Sandra MacDougall
In the Stewart Trophy, the first semi final was between Sheila Shedden (Prestwick St Nicholas) and Sandra McDougall (Kilmalcolm). Sandra was 4 down at one point, got it back to 2 and went onto win by one hole, a very exciting game.

Brenda Conway - Fiona's caddy and Colleen Brown caddy forJanet Dalmally

In the other semi final, Janet Buchanan (Dalmally) and Fiona Armour (Renfrew) had a close game with Fiona, the local player, winning 2&1

Captain Chris Fowler presents Fiona Armour with the Stewart Trophy
