It will travel down the village main street towards Cadwell GC -- (some of you may wish to pay your respects by standing at the roadside) The cortege will go slowly past the Golf Club going towards Irvine.

There will be a service at  10.30am at Holmbridge Crematorium, Irvine ( KA11 4EF) to which all are invited. The service will also be streamed and the code will be listed on the Crematorium website.

It is with much sadness that I have to announce the death of Honorary Member Heather Anderson (Caldwell GC and Troon Ladies)  on the 8th November 2021 a month short of her 91st birthday.

HEATHER STILL BLOOMING AT 73 - Article from by Colin Farquharson
Heather Anderson notched up yet another title in her extraordinarly long and successful golfing career when she won the Scottish Veteran Ladies Golf Association's West Division title at Renfrew yesterday (Wed) at the age of 73.
Mrs Anderson won the Scottish women's amateur championship in 1969 when she beat Kathleen Lackie in the final at West Kilbride. She played for Great Britain & Ireland in the Vagliano Trophy match against the Continent of Europe that year, having appeared for Scotland in the women's home internationals of 1964, 1965, 1968, 1969, 1970 and 1971.
At Renfrew, Heather beat Ann Prentice (Bothwell Castle) by 3 and 2 in the final after winning the second and third to go two up and never falling behind after that.
She was three up at the turn.

And finally Captain May Hughes said --
I had the privilege of playing with Heather in a Vets meeting at West Kilbride. She recalled the days of her victory in the Scottish in 1969. And she also asked the caterer if he had any of those donoughts she so enjoyed at that time. Sadly he didn’t have any !

Heather’s funeral  will be on Friday 26th November. -- See Details
