West Vets Lynn McColl has died suddenly on holiday

Lynn McColl

It with great sadness that I have to inform you all that Lynn McColl (The Carrick)  has died. She suffered a bleed on the brain whilst away on holiday.

For all of you who knew Lynn, she was such an friendly, energetic & positive person. She loved her golf and of course her other passion pickleball.

She was on the WestVets Committee and represented the association in many team matches.

Lynn will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Our thoughts are with her family at this very sad time.

AUTUMN MEETING AT WEST KILBRIDE - RENA SIMPSON WINS THE MARY CRADDOCK TROPHY

After no WestVets golf in 2020we have managed to get our season completed bar one competition.

Our Autumn Meeting at West Kilbride was our last competition of the year, with 75 vets competing. I think everyone agreed it was worth waiting for – the weather was really kind to us, no wind, not cold and by lunchtime, the sunwas shining, lovely views what more could we ask for. Well, probably less bunkers!!

Congratulations to Rena Simpson of Kilmalcolm Golf Club who came in with a nett 70 to be the overall winner of the Autumn Meeting and the recipient of the Mary Craddock Trophy.

Rena also also the best Super Vet.

Gillian Kyle, East Renfrewshire GC came in with the best scratch score of 80, with May Hughes, Lanark GC runner up with 81 (last 6 holes)

The Division 2 winner was Lana MacDonald of Hilton Park GC with a nett 74.

Many thanks to West Kilbride GC for the use of their course, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to play on such a great course.
