West Vets Captain is a winner for D&A

Congartuations go to West Vets Captain Helen Faulds who played in this weeks Inter County Jamboree at Strathaven Golf Club . Helen was unbeaten. --- Well done

East Vets v West Vets --- East retain the Elise Duncan Trophy

Playing over Gullane No 1, East Vets managed to retain the Elise Duncan trophy, being very reluctant to part company with it after having had a firm hold on it for the last few years. The score of 7 - 2 for the East however belied the fact that it was actually a very close run match where six out of the nine games went right to the 18th hole

Maureen is a winner again

West Vets Bronze Champion Maureen Rennie continued her good form by winning the Sheila Conacher Trophy (Mixed Foursomes) at Douglas Park yesterday with her husband Jim.

West v East Match

Our annual singles match against the East Vets takes place on Wednesday 17th June. East are hosts this year at Gullane no.1 with the first game starting at 3pm. They are also holders of the trophy-The Elise Duncan Trophy - so we will be trying very hard to bring the cup back to the West.

West Division Championship Final

The postponed final of the West Vets championship took place today at Renfrew Golf Club between our captain, Helen Faulds (Douglas Park) and Linda MacDougall (Greenock). The course was in extremely good order and the overhead conditions were ideal for golf. Helen played extremely good, steady golf and was the very worthy winner. We wish her well when she heads to Blairgowrie in September to compete in match play against the other Scottish area champions.

Midland Vets were hosts to West Vets at Dunblane Golf Club today (Monday) Great weather, good course and some very close matches resulting in a 31/2-31/2 draw.

West Vets congratulate Cruden Bay's Lynne Terry who scored two good wins to end the day as the Scottish Veteran Ladies Golf Association's Northern Division champion at Peterculter Golf Club today.

As promised here is the result of the Bronze Championship played today over Renfrew.
Maureen Rennie(Douglas Park) beat Anne Donnelly(Whitecraigs) 6 & 5
The game was played in good conditions and in a great spirit. Maureen & Anne had a good game but the former was playing beautifully round and on the greens. I don't think she missed a putt the whole match!

Thank you to Renfrew Golf Club for allowing us courtesy of the course to rearrange the final.

The Championship Final will take place at Renfrew on Thursday 9th June at 11am between Helen Faulds(Douglas Park) and Linda McDougall (Greenock)

Vets Bronze Championship Final

The Final of the West Vets Bronze Championship takes place tomorrow-Thursday 28th May-at Renfrew Golf Club at 11am.
The finalists are Maureen Rennie (Douglas Park) and Anne Donnelly (Whitecraigs). The match will be refereed by yours truly. Pictures and result will be posted tomorrow.

Helen reaches the quarter finals of the Clark Rosebowl at Southerness

At Southerness West Vets Captain -- Helen Faulds (Douglas Park) won through to the second round of the Clark Rosebowl.
She beat fellow Scottish Vet Jill Harrison from Cruden Bay by 3 and 2.
She then lost 2 and 1 to Linda Urqhuart of Banchory.
WELL DONE HELEN TO BE THE ONLY VET TO MAKE IT TO THE QUARTER FINALS
