WEST VETS SPRING MEETING FALLS FOUL OF THE WEATHER

Despite reporting on the above, sadly I have to inform you of the sudden death of Maggie White (Ralston), after her return from holiday in Tenerife with Morag and Bill Key.  Maggie had been a member of the West Vets for 23 years, and our thoughts are very much with her husband, Doug, and her 2 daughters.

Coffee and chat at the Spring Meeting

Now the golf – or lack of it !  We had a huge field looking forward to playing at Pollok G. C., and the Club in turn couldn’t have been more helpful both this morning and in the lead up to our Spring Meeting.  On Tuesday afternoon, I was assured the course would stand up to the weather, and indeed it had.  However the weather was worse than forecast this morning, and after Marion Stewart phoned to say she couldn’t get out of Kilmacolm as the roads were dangerously slippy, we knew the game was up.  Apologies to those who had taken time off work, but hopefully they appreciated our dilemma.

The system of block emails seems to have got to most of you in time, and for this we have to thank Secretary Sandra Macdougall for all her hard work.  However a small number of emails  bounced back, so please inform Sandra if your email has changed recently.

Finally, could we all keep fingers crossed for the Summer Meeting at Troon ?!!

West Vets play at Royal Belfast for Scottish Vets.

I’m sure you’ll all join with me in wishing all the best to Gillian Kyle and Lesley Lloyd as they try to retain the Mary McKenna Trophy against Irish Vets from 7-9th April.
