SENIOR SCOTS WOMEN LOSE TO IRELAND ON DAY 1 OF THE SENIOR WOMEN'S HOME INTERNATIONALS IN DUBLIN

Scotland, beaten 7-1 by Ireland 12 months ago, suffered an even heavier 8-0 defeat by the home favourites on the opening day of the senior women's home golf internationals at Elm Park Golf Club, Dublin today.
West Vets Lesley Lloyd and Alex Glennie are in the team
The Scots lost the foursomes 3-0 and then were outplayed 5-0 in the singles in which none of the ties got beyond the 15th green.
Title-holders England had to win the last two singles to salvage a 4-4 draw with Wales whom they beat 7-1 in last year's tournament.

S McElroy and P Doran beat A Bartlett and A Glennie 3 and 2.

McMullen beat Wood 4 and 3.
McElroy beat L Bennett 5 and 4.
Corcoran beat McKinlay 7 and 6.
M Dowling beat A Glennie 7 and 6.
Webb beat L Lloyd 5 and 3.
