West Vets regain the Elise Duncan Trophy
The rescheduled match between the West and East was played in glorious conditions at Troon Portland yesterday. In a very closely contested match the West team were able to regain the Elise Duncan Trophy by winning 5 - 4.

ENGLAND 6, IRELAND 1
SCOTLAND 4 ½ , WALES 2 ½
Foursomes: F De Vries and P Williamson lost to V Thomas and D Richards 2 holes; E Campbell and M Thomson bt A Lewis and J Doleman 1 hole (1-1).
Singles: Williamson lost to Thomas 2 and 1, De Vries beat Doleman 4 and 3, L Bennett beat Lewis 3 and 1, H Faulds (West Vets) halved with H Joyce, N Fenton beat Richards 2 and 1 (3 ½-1 ½).
Day 2:
WALES 6, IRELAND 1
SCOTLAND 2, ENGLAND 5
Foursomes: F De Vries and P Williamson lost to C Quinn and C Watson 2 and 1; L Campbell and M Thomson lost to C. Caldwell and C Stirling 1 hole (0-2).
Singles: Williamson lost to Quinn 3 and 2, L Bennett lost to Watson 3 and 1, De Vries beat G Bray 5 and 4, H Faulds (West Vets) beat P Wrightson 2 and 1, N Fenton lost to Caldwell 2 holes (2-3).

IRELAND 2½, SCOTLAND 4½Foursomes: M Madden and V Hassett lost to F De Vries and H Faulds 4 and 2; S O’Brien-Kenney and M Henderson halved with E Campbell and M Thomson ( ½ -1 ½)
Singles: O’Brien-Kenney bt De Vries 2 and 1, M McKenna lost to P Williamson 1 hole, Hassett lost to L Bennett 2 and 1, Madden lost to Thomson 2 and 1, E MacMullen beat N Fenton 2 and 1 (2-3).
FINAL PLACINGS
1 England 3 pt (3 wins).
2 Scotland 2pt (2 wins, 1 defeat).
3 Wales 1 1/2pt (1 win, 1 draw, 1 defeat).
4 Ireland 0pt (3 defeats).
Congratulations go to the Scottish team on their performance and to Helen Faulds (Douglas Park)the West Vets Champion who was unbeaten in the 3 matches she played in over the 3 days
