Summer Meeting at Drumpellier

Thirty ladies played in the competition over Drumpellier. The weather was dry the course beautiful, however with greens resembling Augusta, everyone except Marion Stewart,Kilmacolm, had problems putting.
The good news ! The competition is reduction only SSS 72 CSS 75 RO

Marion was clever enough to have the best net score (85-9=76) but is only allowed to win one prize.

1 Helen Crichton (Ranfurly Castle) 101-26=75
Despite the incredibly difficult greens both Sandra Gilchrist(Whitecraigs) and Sheila Goudie(Cowglen) managed a two.

West Vets in squad for Senior Home International Matches

The SLGA has picked its squad for the Senior Home International Matches at Hamilton Golf Club on the 3rd - 5th October 2006. Congratulations go to Helen Faulds (Douglas Park), Pat Hutton (Lanark), Janice Paterson (Drumpellier) and Anna Telfer (Milngavie) who have all been chosen to be members of the squad.
The other members of the squad are Rose Anderson,Lorna Bennett, Liz Campbell, Fiona De Vries, Noreen Fenton, Christine McAndrew, Ann Smart, Kathleen Sutherland, Moira Thomson, Margaret Tough, Pamela Williamson and Emma Wilson

Helen Faulds is the 2006 West Vets Champion

Helen Faulds (Douglas Park) the current Champion, retained her title by beating first time qualifier May Myers (Clober) a new member of the West Vets by 2 and 1 in the final today, played over Renfrew Golf Course.

In the bronze championship Moira McCartney (Milngavie) won 2 and 1 against Jane Thomson (Whitecraigs)
It was a fabulous day with the weather, enjoyed greatly by spectators, and we are indebted to Renfrew Golf Club for the courtesy of their course.
