West Vets at Blairgowrie --- West Vets do well and Helen Faulds is the Scottish Vets Captain

Blairgowrie Golf Club was a very busy place on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday of this week as 120 Vets from all over Scotland arrived to play in their annual competitions. Weather was kind to us again this year and the courses were in very good condition.
The Championship played on the Lansdowne Course featured the divisional champions in a knockout competition and Pat Hutton, our West Vets Champion, lost in the to Linda Dyball (Midlands) in the quarter finals
Noreen Fenton from the East won  won the Scroggie Cup by winning the Championship.

In the Medal round on Rosemount on Monday the winner of the Rosebowl was Heather Anderson (Midlands) 76  (4) -72. She also won the Lyon Picture for the best scratch 78.

West Vet June Irons was runner up with a 89 (15) -74 and was  awarded the Smith Medal and West Vet Sheilagh Osborne won 4th prize with a net 76 playing off a handicap of 15. The Buchannan Cup  (for the best Nett Score for ladies in a more senior age group) was also  presented to June Irons with Sheilagh Osborne being runner up in that group.

Isabel McIntosh  (Highland) was the winner of Scratch award (in the upper Age Group )  and was presented with the Allen Plate

The Greensomes Competition was played over the Lansdowne Course on Tuesday and West had 13 couples playing.
Carol Fell and Helen Faulds retained the Tony Moffat Memorial Trophy for the best Scratch  Score of 78 (3 over the SSS OF 75) and the Beddows Quaich for 1st handicap 78-7-71.

Sally Coster SVLGA Vice president  chaired the AGM due to President Jean Thomas being unwell and West Past Captain Helen Faulds took over from Pam Williamson as the new Scottish Vets Captain and she thanked Pam for all her hard work over the years. East Vet Noreen Fenton was appointed the Scottish Vets Vice Captain
