The Final of both the West Vets Championship and the Bronze Championship  was played at Renfrew Golf Club this afternoon 
In the Championship West Vets Captain Anna Telfer (Milngavie) who had defeated Lorraine Campbell (Cardross) by 3 & 2 in the mornings semi final this was beaten by Alex Glennie (Kilmarnock Barassie) by 5 & 3. Alex had beaten Pat Hutton (Lanark)  2 Up in the other semi final.
In the Bronze Championship Ann Colthart (Dalmally) won 2 up at the 18th hole against Pat Robertson (Caldwell)

CHAMPIONSHIPS AT RENFREW GC

We were blessed with beautiful weather today at Renfrew Golf Club.

The morning round provided some really close matches -

Jennifer Mack ( Haggs Castle) beat Helen Faulds (Douglas Park)  -   2 holes
Lorraine Campbell (Cardross)  beat Liz Hale  (Caldwell) -  2 and 1
May Hughes (Lanark) beat Sheena McDonald   (Buchanan Castle) - 1 up
Anna Telfer (Milngavie) beat Marion Stewart (Kilmacolm)  -  4 and 2  (Captain v Vice Captain !!!!)
Janice Paterson (Drumpellier) beat Linda McDougall  (Greenock)- 2 up
Alex Glennie (Kilmarcock Barassie) beat Jane Finnie (Troon Ladies)  - 2 and 1
Pat Hutton (Lanark) beat Nicky Henderson  (Haggs Castle) - 5 and 4
Anabel Kane (Kilmacolm) beat Anne Aitken (Eastwood)  -  5 and 4

The afternoon matches were even tighter..............

Lorraine beat Jennifer by 1 hole
Anna beat May by 3 and 1
Alex beat Janice by 1 hole (the last putt on the last green)
Pat beat Anabel by 2 and 1


Semi finals are tomorrow morning at 9:30 am with the final at 2:00pm

The Bronze Final between Ann Colthart and Pat Robertson will be at 2:10pm

All spectators and supporters would be most welcome.

SUMMER MEETING 2013 at DRUMPELLIER GC

The cold and blustery wind made for difficult playing conditions today in the Summer Meeting at Drumpellier and so with only one lady managing to play to her handicap, everyone will be relieved to discover it was REDUCTION ONLY today. --- SSS 72, CSS 75 (Reduction Only)

Jennifer Mack (Haggs Castle) with a terrific 79, is the winner of the Heather Anderson Trophy for the best Scratch score

Anne Aitken (Eastwood) took 1st handicap prize in the Silver Division with a 72 and Sheena Niven (Hilton Park) was the Bronze winner with a nett 77.

Moira Cameron (Whitecraigs)  was our "Super Vet"

Congratulations to the 16 ladies who qualified for the Championship. This will be held at Renfrew GC next Thursday and Friday (30th and 31st May) and spectators would be most welcome.

Next on the calendar is the Autumn Meeting on September 6th at Buchanan Castle. Please post your entries and cheques to Anna Telfer as soon as possible. Remember this is a postal ballot and we need 80 entries to make it financially viable. Please support this competition if you can.

The Draw for the Summer Meeting is now available.

 As it is the Championship Qualifier, the Draw has been done in strict handicap order so unfortunately any time requests could not be accommodated.
 I am sorry if anyone is disappointed but that is the rule for this Competition.
